School District 271 School Closures/SNOW DAYSThe CDA Schools Snow Hotline is 208.667.0784. If watching the news stations please watch for COEUR D'ALENE SCHOOL DISTRICT #271 or CDA #271 - we are NOT Kootenai district. School Closures: Anouncements will be made between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. if schools across the Coeur d'Alene school District will be closed due to weather-related safety concerns. Please watch for closure information on the district's main page of the website. KREM 2, KXLY 4, KHQ 6 and radio stations KVNI 1080 and K102 will broadcast/stream school closures. The district's hotline will provide regular updates on the status of school closures, and is a very efficient way, in partnership with the District's Web site, to check the status of closures. Marcia Franklin Visits LakesThanks to Mr. Eubanks, Marcia Franklin, Producer and Host for Idaho Public Television came to Lakes to introduce The Color of Conscience to our students. This one hour documentary looks at the history of the Aryan Nations group in Idaho and the people who fought against it, as well as current human rights issues, and hate crimes. Marcia Franklin shared how it took ten years to create this documentary. After the documentary, students shared their experinces on tolerence, hatred and diversity. Lakes Magnet Middle School is the 1st school to show this documentary in the State of Idaho. We are honored to have Marcia Franklin come to our school. If you have not seen this documentary you may check it on Idaho Public Television.
